Fallout 3 Reviews Pouring In

It's pretty overwhelming to set a game loose in the wild after working on it so long. One day it's all a big secret, the next it seems like everyone on the internet has played the game a dozen hours and has an opinion to share. I've been trying to keep up with it, but it's just too much! I'm pretty thrilled that our metacritic rating is around 94% right now.

The really interesting stuff comes from lurking around the various forums online and seeing what people really think once they dig deeper into the game, though. I always find it most educational to gauge people after the initial deluge of extremely positive/negative reactions start to subside.

Fallout 3 Level Design Diary

I recently wrote up a developer diary for the Fallout 3 Official Site. I made a lot of false starts with this because I wanted to write something more general about our level design process. Those drafts were all too expansive and general, so I decided to focus in on something more specific. Building our version of D.C. was a pretty big endeavor, so that's the topic I chose.

The title is pulled from a Strike Anywhere song, but there's no link beyond that. I just like to give those guys a nod and thought the title was fitting. Here's a link to the diary.
